CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate) Curriculum
The Cisco CCNA network associate certification validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks. This includes implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN. This new curriculum includes basic mitigation of security threats, introduction to Wireless networking concepts and terminology, and performance based skills. This new curriculum also includes (but is not limited to) the use of these protocols: IP, EIGRP, SLIP, Frame Relay, RIPv2, VLANs, Ethernet, and ACLs.
Official Certification Exam: 640-802 (CCNA Certification)
The CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is the composite exam associated with the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices -Part 1 (640-822 ICND1) and the Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices -Part 2 (640-816 ICND2) courses.
This exam tests the knowledge and skills required to install, operate, and troubleshoot a small to medium size enterprise branch network. Topics include WAN connections; Network Security; network types; network media; routing & switching fundamentals; the TCP/IP & OSI models; IP addressing; WAN technologies; operating & configuring IOS devices; extending switched networks with VLANs; determining IP routes; managing IP traffic with Access Lists; Point-to-Point connections; and Frame Relay connections.
Official Certification Exam: 640-822 (CCENT Certification)
The CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) certification validates the skills required for entry-level network support positions, the starting point for many successful careers in networking. Candidates should have the knowledge and skill to install, operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the ICND1 exam The CCENT certification is the first step toward achieving CCNA certification.
CCENT and CCNA certifications are valid for three years. To recertify , pass either the ICND1 or ICND2 exams, or pass the current CCNA exam, or pass a CCNA Concentration exam;
(CCNA Wireless, CCNA Security, CCNA Voice), or pass any 642-XXX Professional Level or Cisco Specialist exam, or pass the current CCIE exam.

CCNP (Cisco Certified Networking Professional) Curriculum
The CCNP certification (Cisco Certified Network Professional) indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of networks. With a CCNP, a network professional can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes, including but not limited to these protocols: IP, IGRP, IPX, Async Routing, AppleTalk, Extended Access Lists, IP RIP, Route Redistribution, RIP, Route Summarization, OSPF, VLSM, BGP, Serial, Frame Relay, ISDN, ISL, X.25, DDR, PSTN, PPP, VLANs, Ethernet, Access Lists, 802.10, FDDI, Transparent and Translational Bridging.
Semesters 5 through 8 (CCNP1 - CCNP4) of the Cisco Networking Academy Program represent an advanced networking course that teaches skills associated with the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification exam. The CCNP curriculum examines complex networking concepts, such as troubleshooting tools and more sophisticated configurations.
